MOLNIYA 3-13, also known as Molniya-3, is a communication satellite launched on July 18, 1980, from the PLMSC LC43/3 launch pad using a Molniya 8K78M launch vehicle. It was manufactured by NPOPM and operated under the ownership of NPOPM/MSVYAZ. The satellite has dimensions of 3.6 meters in length, 1.6 meters in diameter, and a span of 8.1 meters. Its dry mass is 1700 kg with an initial launch mass of 1750 kg. Equipped with six deployable solar arrays producing up to 1000 W along with batteries for power storage, the satellites mission was communication and it utilized a KDU-414A or 11D414NS motor. The shape is described as cylindrical with six panels and has an RCS of 16.7306. MOLNIYA 3-13 had a projected lifetime of three years.
