COSMOS 1712 [GLONASS], also known as Kosmos-1712, is a dummy satellite launched by GUKOS from the TYMSC site on December 24, 1985, using a Proton-K/DM-2 launch vehicle. It has dimensions of 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in diameter with a span of 7.8 meters. The satellite weighs 1300 kg at launch and 1200 kg dry mass. Its payload is Uragan GVM, and it was manufactured by OAZ. The satellites shape consists of a cylinder with antennas and two panels, and its surface area (RCS) is 0.3953 square meters. It was stabilized on December 25, 1985, following its launch.
