ORBCOMM FM08, also known as Orbcomm A4, is a MicroStar satellite manufactured by OSCG and owned by ORBC. Launched on December 23, 1997, from the ERAS launch site using a Pegasus XL/HAPS launch vehicle, it serves a communication M2M/IoT mission for the US. The satellite measures 0.2 meters in length with a diameter of 1 meter and a span of 4.3 meters, equipped with deployable solar arrays and batteries. It has an orbital lifetime of approximately 4 years and carries an Orbcomm payload. Its shape is described as Cyl + 2 Pan + Ant and has a radar cross-section (RCS) value of 0.5145 square meters. The satellites dry mass and launch mass are both 42 kilograms, and it was launched on the same date that it stabilized in orbit.
