ORBCOMM FM18, also known as Orbcomm B6, is a communication satellite for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) purposes launched on August 2, 1998. It was manufactured by OSCG and has dimensions of 0.2 meters in length with a diameter of 1 meter and a span of 4.3 meters due to its solar arrays. The satellite weighs 42 kilograms at launch and is equipped with deployable solar arrays and batteries for power. Launched from ERAS using the Pegasus XL/HAPS vehicle, it has a mission lifetime of approximately four years. Its equipment includes an Orbcomm payload designed for communication purposes.
