GLOBALSTAR M059 is a communication satellite, also known as Globalstar FM59, launched on October 18, 1999, from the TYMSC launch site using a Soyuz-U-PVB vehicle from LC1. Manufactured by LOR (Lockheed Martin), it has dimensions of 1.5 meters in length and 0.6 meters in diameter with a span of 12 meters due to its deployable solar arrays. The satellite weighs approximately 380 kg when dry, with an initial launch mass of 450 kg. It is equipped with a communication payload and uses the LS-400 AOCS motor for attitude control. The design includes a box shape augmented by two panels. GLOBALSTAR M059 was launched to support global communication services, powered by solar arrays and batteries. Its expected lifetime is 7.5 years.
