ORBCOMM FM35, also known as Orbcomm D7, is a US communication satellite belonging to the Microstar configuration and was launched on December 4, 1999, from the ERAS launch site using a Pegasus XL/HAPS launch vehicle from pad RW22. The spacecraft has dimensions of 0.2 meters in length, 1 meter in diameter, and spans up to 4.3 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It weighs 44 kilograms both at launch and dry mass, and it is equipped with an Orbcomm payload designed for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) communication purposes. The satellites power system includes two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Its operational lifetime was projected to be four years. Manufactured by OSCG, ORBCOMM FM35 operates in a cylindrical shape with additional panels and an antenna for its mission objectives.
