SPACEWAY 2 is a communication satellite operated by DTV, manufactured by BOES and launched on November 16, 2005, from ELA3 launch pad at FRGUI using an Ariane 5ECA launch vehicle. It has a dry mass of 3940 kg and a launch mass of 6116 kg with dimensions of 5.1 meters in length, 3.3 meters in diameter, and a span of 40.9 meters. The satellite is equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation, and it carries 72 Ka-band transponders and a regenerative Ka-band payload. SPACEWAY 2 has an operational lifespan of 13 years and was stabilized by November 17, 2005. Its shape consists of a box with two panels, and it utilizes R-4D-14-350 motors for propulsion.
