ASTRA 1KR is a communication satellite launched on April 20, 2006, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station using an Atlas V 411 launch vehicle. It measures 6 meters in length with a diameter of 3.6 meters and a span of 27 meters due to its solar arrays. The spacecraft has a dry mass of 2000 kilograms and a launch mass of 4332 kilograms, powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Equipped with 32 Ku-band transponders for direct broadcasting services, ASTRA 1KR was designed with a mission lifetime of 15 years. The satellite is owned by SES (SESA) and manufactured by LMCSS, using a Box + 2 Pan shape configuration with an Astra 1KR payload for communication purposes. Its motor is the Leros 1 model.
