ORBCOMM FM39, also known as Orbcomm Q3, is a US communication satellite based on the Sterkh Bus configuration manufactured by OHB/POLK. Launched on June 19, 2008, from KYMSC Launch Complex LC107 using a Kosmos 11K65M launch vehicle, this satellite has dimensions of 1.4 meters in length and 0.6 meters in diameter with a span of 1.5 meters. It weighs 115 kg at both dry mass and launch mass. Equipped with deployable solar arrays and batteries for power supply, the satellites mission includes M2M/IoT communication and traffic monitoring. With an expected lifetime of 8-10 years, ORBCOMM FM39 carries an Orbcomm payload and AIS-receiver.
