COSMOS 2456 [GLONASS-M], also known as Kosmos-2456, is a Russian navigation satellite launched on December 14, 2009, from the Tyuratam Space Center (TYMSC) Launch Pad LC81/24 using a Proton-M/DM-2 launch vehicle. The spacecraft uses a 3-Axis stabilized Uragan-M bus and has dimensions of approximately 4 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and a span of 7.8 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It carries the Uragan-M No. 30L payload for navigation purposes and weighs 1200 kilograms dry with a launch mass of 1450 kilograms. The satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries, has a lifetime of 7 years, and was manufactured by RESH. It belongs to the Uragan series and operates under the ownership of KVR/IACG for navigation purposes.
