The BEIDOU-2 IGSO-3 satellite, also known as Beidou DW 8, is a navigation satellite launched by CNSA on April 9, 2011, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XICLF), LC3 launch pad, using the Chang Zheng 3A launch vehicle. It has a DFH-3 bus configuration and measures approximately 3 meters in length with a diameter of 1.7 meters and a span of 18 meters. The satellites dry mass is 1300 kg and its launch mass was 2300 kg, featuring two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power supply. It has a designed lifetime of 8 years and was manufactured by CAST with the FY-25 motor. Its primary mission is navigation purposes as part of the Beidou constellation.
