The BEIDOU-2 IGSO-4 satellite, also known as Beidou DW 9, is a navigation satellite operated by CNSA and manufactured by CAST. It was launched on July 26, 2011, from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XICLF), LC3 launch pad, using the Chang Zheng 3A launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of approximately 3 meters in length, 1.7 meters in diameter, and a span of 18 meters due to its solar arrays. It weighs 2,300 kilograms at launch and has a dry mass of 1,300 kilograms. Equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation, it was designed to have an operational lifetime of 8 years. The satellite features a box shape with two panels and uses the DFH-3 bus configuration. Its purpose is to support navigation services as part of the Beidou system.
