QUETZSAT 1, also known as QuetzSat-1, is a communication satellite built by LOR for SESSL and launched on September 29, 2011, from the TYMSC launch site using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 5.5 meters in length, 2.2 meters in diameter, and a span of 26.7 meters, with a dry mass of 2472 kilograms and a launch mass of 5514 kilograms. It is equipped with 32 Ku-band transponders and uses two deployable solar arrays for power generation, complemented by batteries. The satellites design includes a box shape with cruciform panels. QUETZSAT 1 has an expected lifetime of 15 years and operates in service of the UK.
