GLOBALSTAR M086 is a communication satellite identified by NORAD as 38045 and OBJECT_ID 2011-080F, operated under the BUS Prisma and equipped with an ELiTeBus-1000 configuration. Launched on December 28, 2011, from TYMSC LC31 using a Soyuz-2-1A launch vehicle, this US satellite has dimensions of 4 meters in length, 2 meters in diameter, and spans 12 meters with its deployed components. It weighs approximately 715 kilograms at launch and 500 kilograms dry. Equipped with 16 C-to-S-band transponders and 16 L-to-C-band transponders for communication purposes, the satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays generating 2.4 kW (bol) and 1.7 kW (eol), along with batteries. The spacecrafts structure consists of a trap cylindrical body with two panels and has a reflective surface area (RCS) of 4.5242 square meters. Manufactured by THALR, the satellite is owned by GLOBL and carries the payload Globalstar-2 FM18. Its expected operational lifetime spans 15 years.
