SES-4 is a communication satellite launched by SESSL on February 14, 2012, from the TYSMC launch site using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 8.2 meters in length with a diameter of 3 meters and has a span of 32.4 meters. It features 52 C-band transponders and 72 Ku-band transponders, powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. SES-4 weighs 6180 kilograms at launch and has a dry mass of 4500 kilograms. The satellite is equipped with R-4D motors for propulsion and follows a Box + 2 Pan shape design. It was manufactured using the SSL-1300 configuration by LOR (Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems) and is intended to operate for approximately 15 years in orbit, providing communication services as its primary mission.
