INTELSAT 23 (IS-23) is a communication satellite operated by INTELU and was launched on October 14, 2012, from the TYMSC launch site using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle from LC81/24. The spacecraft has dimensions of 5.5 meters in length, 2.3 meters in diameter, and spans 22.4 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It weighs 3200 kilograms at launch and carries a dry mass of 1440 kilograms. Equipped with 24 C-band transponders and 15 Ku-band transponders, the satellite uses a Star-2.4E Bus configuration manufactured by OSCD. Its power supply consists of two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The expected lifetime is 15 years, and its shape can be described as box-like with two panels for solar arrays.
