The satellite FM-6 (Sirius FM-6) was launched on October 25, 2013, from Tyuratam Cosmodrome LC200/39 using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle. It has dimensions of 5.2 meters in length and 5.6 meters in diameter with a span of 24.8 meters. The satellites dry mass is 1,500 kg and its launch mass was 3,800 kg. Equipped with a 1 X/S-band transponder for communication (direct radio broadcasting), FM-6 is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. It has an expected operational lifetime of 15 years and operates in a box-shaped configuration with two panels. The satellite was manufactured by SSL and launched on behalf of SIRX for Sirius CD Radio 6, serving as part of the communication infrastructure for direct radio broadcasting services.
