O3B FM7 is a communication satellite with the NORAD catalog ID 40080 and object identifier 2014-038B. It was manufactured by THALR and uses the Prisma bus configuration, specifically the ELiTeBus-1000 model. Launched on July 10, 2014, from ELS in French Guiana aboard a Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle, O3B FM7 has dimensions of 4 meters in length and 2 meters in diameter with a span of 12 meters. The satellites dry mass is 500 kg and it had an initial launch mass of 700 kg. Equipped with 12 Ka-band transponders for communication purposes, O3B FM7 also features two deployable solar arrays and batteries to provide power throughout its mission. Its shape is described as a box trap with two panels, and the satellite has a radar cross section (RCS) of 1.4019 square meters. Operated by O3B, O3B FM7 was designed for a lifetime of approximately 10 years in orbit.
