The O3B FM6 satellite, also known as O3b FM6, was launched on July 10, 2014, from the Guiana Space Centre (ELS launch pad) using a Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle. This communication satellite, manufactured by THALR and operated by O3B, is part of the Prisma series with an ELiTeBus-1000 configuration. The satellites dimensions are 4 meters in length, 2 meters in diameter, and has a span of 12 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It has a launch mass of 700 kilograms and a dry mass of 500 kilograms. Equipped with 12 Ka-Band transponders and powered by two deployable solar arrays along with batteries, O3B FM6 is designed for a 10-year operational lifetime in orbit. Its shape is described as a box trap with two pan configurations, and its reflective surface area (RCS) is 12.5893 square meters. The satellites attitude control system is the LS-400 AOCS, aiding in maintaining its orientation for optimal communication performance.
