O3B FM9 is a communication satellite manufactured by THALR and owned by O3B. It was launched on December 18, 2014, from the Guiana Space Centre using a Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 4 meters in length, 2 meters in diameter, and a span of 12 meters with a dry mass of 500 kilograms and a launch mass of 700 kilograms. It is equipped with 12 Ka-band transponders and powered by two deployable solar arrays along with batteries. The satellites configuration follows the ELiTeBus-1000 bus design, and it has an expected lifetime of 10 years. Its mission is to provide communication services, supported by its shape characterized as a box trap with two panels.
