GSAT0213 (GALILEO 17), also known as GalileoSat-17, is a navigation satellite launched on November 17, 2016, from the Guiana Space Center using an Ariane 5ES launch vehicle. The spacecraft, manufactured by OHB, has dimensions of 2.7 meters in length and 1.4 meters in diameter with a span of 14.5 meters due to its solar arrays. It carries a Galileo Navigation payload and MEO SAR equipment for navigation purposes and weighs approximately 738 kilograms at launch, with a dry mass of 700 kilograms. The satellite is designed to operate for about 12 years and uses two deployable solar arrays along with batteries for power generation. Its shape is described as a box with two panels. GSAT0213 is owned by the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (GSAEU) and operates under the SmartMEO configuration, contributing to the Galileo navigation constellation.
