IRIDIUM 102 (also known as Iridium Next SV102) is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite launched on January 14, 2017, from AFWTR SLC4E using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 9.4 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It weighs 860 kilograms at launch and 700 kilograms dry mass. Equipped with an L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links, Ka-band downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver, IRIDIUM 102 is part of a constellation designed for communication and traffic monitoring purposes. It has a planned operational lifetime of up to 15 years and uses two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power. The satellites shape is described as half hexagonal prism with two pans, and it was manufactured by OATKGA on behalf of IRIDS (Iridium).
