IRIDIUM 117, also known as Iridium Next SV117, is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite owned by IRIDS (Iridium LLC). It was launched on June 25, 2017, from AFWTR Launch Site at SLC4E using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The satellite has a BUS configuration of EliteBus with the ELiTeBus-1000 design and measures 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 9.4 meters. It weighs 860 kilograms at launch and has a dry mass of 700 kilograms. The satellite is equipped with L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links and downlinks, an ADS-B payload, and an AIS-receiver. Its power comes from two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Designed for a lifetime of 10 years, the satellite is intended to operate for up to 15 years. Manufactured by OATKGA (OneWeb Technology Group), it has a half hex prism plus two panels shape.
