IRIDIUM 124, also known as Iridium Next SV124, is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite operated by IRIDS (Iridium LLC). Launched on June 25, 2017, from AFWTR SLC4E using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle, the satellite has dimensions of 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 9.4 meters. It is equipped with an L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links, downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver (on 58 satellites), and its configuration is based on the ELiTeBus-1000 bus manufactured by OATKGA. The satellite has a launch mass of 860 kg and a dry mass of 700 kg, powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Its designed lifetime is 10 years with a planned extension to 15 years.
