COSMOS 2522 [GLONASS-M], also known as Kosmos-2522, is a Russian navigation satellite launched on September 22, 2017, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome using the Soyuz-2-1B launch vehicle. It is based on the Uragan bus and has a configuration of a 3-axis stabilized Uragan-M bus. The satellite measures 4 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and spans up to 7.8 meters due to its deployable solar arrays. It has a launch mass of 1450 kg, including a dry mass of 1200 kg. Manufactured by RESH for the VVKOV/IACG, this satellite is equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. Its mission is to support navigation services as part of the GLONASS constellation. The expected operational lifetime is seven years.
