The IRIDIUM 100 (also known as Iridium Next SV127) satellite was launched on October 9, 2017, from AFWTR SLC4E using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle by owner IRIDS. It has a configuration of ELiTeBus-1000 and measures 3.1 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and a span of 9.4 meters. The satellites dry mass is 700 kg, and its launch mass was 860 kg. It is equipped with an L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links, Ka-band downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver (on 58 satellites). Its power comes from two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The mission of IRIDIUM 100 is for communication and traffic monitoring purposes, designed to operate for 10 years with a planned lifetime extension to 15 years.
