The IRIDIUM 125 satellite, also known as Iridium Next SV125, was launched on October 9, 2017, from the AFWTR launch site using a Falcon 9 vehicle. It is owned by IRIDS and manufactured by OATKGA with a design lifetime of 10 years but planned for up to 15 years. The satellite has dimensions of 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 9.4 meters, featuring the EliteBus configuration. It weighs 860 kg at launch and carries equipment including an L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links and downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver technology. Its purpose is communication and traffic monitoring, powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The satellites shape is described as a half hex prism with two panels.
