IRIDIUM 144, also known as Iridium Next SV144, is an American communication and traffic monitoring satellite manufactured by OATKGA and operated by IRIDS. Launched on March 30, 2018, from Vandenberg Air Force Base SLC-4E using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle, the spacecraft has dimensions of 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 9.4 meters. With a dry mass of 700 kilograms and a launch mass of 860 kilograms, it is equipped with an L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links and downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver technology. The satellites power system consists of two deployable solar arrays and batteries. It was designed for a ten-year lifespan but has a planned operational period of fifteen years.
