The satellite IRIDIUM 143 (also known as Iridium Next SV143) was launched on March 30, 2018, from the Vandenberg Air Force Base using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. It is part of a constellation owned by IRIDS and was manufactured by OATKGA. The satellite has dimensions of 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and spans 9.4 meters with its solar arrays deployed. Its dry mass is 700 kilograms and it had an initial launch mass of 860 kilograms. Equipped for communication and traffic monitoring purposes, it carries a L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links and downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver (shared across the constellation). The satellites power system consists of two deployable solar arrays and batteries to maintain its operations throughout its planned lifetime of 15 years. It has a configuration known as ELiTeBus-1000 and is part of the EliteBus bus series.
