IRIDIUM 147 (also known as Iridium Next SV147) is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite launched on May 22, 2018, from AFWTR SLC4E using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The satellite, with a configuration of ELiTeBus-1000 manufactured by OATKGA, measures 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and has a span of 9.4 meters. It was designed for a lifespan of 10 years but planned for 15 years of operation. Its dry mass is 700 kg, while its launch mass was 860 kg. The satellite is equipped with L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links and downlinks, as well as ADS-B and AIS-receiver payloads (the latter on 58 satellites). It operates using two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power. The satellites shape is described as a half hexagonal prism with two panels. Owned by IRIDS, it serves the mission of providing communication services and monitoring traffic.
