IRIDIUM 180 (also known as Iridium Next SV180) is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite manufactured by NGISGA for IRIDS. It was launched on January 11, 2019, from AFWTR SLC4E using the Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The satellite measures 3.1 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and a span of 9.4 meters. Its dry mass is 700 kg and it has a launch mass of 860 kg. Equipped with L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links, Ka-band downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver (on 58 satellites), IRIDIUM 180 features two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation. The satellite is designed to operate for up to 10 years but planned for a lifetime of 15 years. It has a shape described as Half Hex Prism+2 pan.
