IRIDIUM 176, also known as Iridium Next SV176, is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite launched on January 11, 2019, from Vandenberg Air Force Base (AFWTR) using Falcon 9 as the launch vehicle. It was manufactured by NGISGA and owned by IRIDS. The satellite measures 3.1 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and a span of 9.4 meters. It has a dry mass of 700 kg and a launch mass of 860 kg, featuring a configuration known as ELiTeBus-1000. Its equipment includes an L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links and downlinks, ADS-B payload, and AIS-receiver. The satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. It has a design lifetime of 10 years but plans are set for it to operate up to 15 years.
