INTELSAT 39 (IS-39), also known as Intelsat IS-39, is a communication satellite built by MAXSS and operated by INTELU. It was launched on August 6, 2019, from the ELA3 launch pad at Guiana Space Centre using an Ariane 5ECA+ vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 8 meters in length, 6 meters in diameter, and a span of 26.1 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. It weighs 6600 kg at launch and 3000 kg dry. Equipped with C- and Ku-band transponders, it is designed for a lifespan of up to 15 years. The satellites power system includes two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Its shape is described as a box with two panels, and it is based on the SSL-1300 bus configuration.
