The STARLINK-1008 satellite, also known as Starlink 1008, is owned and operated by SpaceX (SPXS). Launched on November 11, 2019, from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Launch Complex 40 using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle, it serves a communication mission. The satellite has dimensions of 0.2 meters in length, 2.8 meters in diameter, and a span of 9 meters. It weighs 260 kilograms at launch with a dry mass of 248 kilograms. Equipped with Ku/Ka-band payload (all) and optical inter-satellite links (some prototypes), it uses krypton ion thrusters for propulsion. Power is supplied by solar arrays and batteries, and its shape can be described as box + pan configuration.
