The STARLINK-1042 satellite, also known as Starlink 1042, is a communication satellite built by SPXS and launched on November 11, 2019, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Stations Launch Complex 40 using the Falcon 9 launch vehicle. It has dimensions of approximately 0.2 meters in length, 2.8 meters in diameter, and a span of 9 meters. The satellite weighs about 260 kilograms at launch and is equipped with a dry mass of 248 kilograms. Its payload includes a Ku/Ka-band system and optical inter-satellite links on prototypes. It is powered by solar arrays and batteries and uses Krypton ion thrusters for propulsion. The satellites shape consists of a box with pan configuration, and it serves communication purposes as part of the Starlink constellation.
