The STARLINK-1158 satellite, also known as Starlink 1158, is a communication satellite manufactured by SPXS and launched on January 29, 2020, from the Air Force Eastern Test Range (AFETR), using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. With dimensions of 0.2 meters in length and 2.8 meters in diameter, it has a span of 9 meters and a dry mass of 248 kilograms. The satellites mission is to provide communication services through its Ku/Ka-band payload and optical inter-satellite links (prototypes). It is powered by solar arrays and batteries, and features Krypton ion thrusters for propulsion.
