The STARLINK-1171 satellite, also known as Starlink 1171, is owned by SpaceX (SPXS) and was launched on January 29, 2020, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Stations Launch Complex 40 using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. It is part of the Starlink constellation designed for communication purposes. The satellite has dimensions of 0.2 meters in length, 2.8 meters in diameter, and spans 9 meters when fully deployed. It weighs 260 kilograms at launch with a dry mass of 248 kilograms. Equipped with Ku/Ka-band payload systems and optical inter-satellite links (prototypes), it uses krypton ion thrusters for propulsion and solar arrays along with batteries to generate power.
