ASTRA 2G is a communication satellite, also known as Astra 2G, operated by SES S.A., designed for direct broadcasting services. Launched on December 27, 2014, from the Tyuratam Space Center (TYMSC) in Kazakhstan using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle, this Eurostar-3000 satellite has a dry mass of 3000 kg and was equipped with 62 Ku-band and 4 Ka-band transponders. The satellite measures 6.8 meters in length, 2.8 meters in diameter, and its solar arrays span up to 39.8 meters when deployed. Its expected operational lifetime is 15 years, powered by deployable solar arrays and batteries. It was manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space (ADST) and uses R-4D thrusters for stationkeeping. The satellites shape consists of a box structure with two deployable panels, and it has an RCS (Reaction Control System) with a value of 0.003.
