SES-12 is a communication satellite, also known by its alternate name SES-12, operated by SESSA. It was manufactured by ADST and uses the Eurostar 3000e bus configuration. The satellite has dimensions of 5.4 meters in length, 3 meters in diameter, and spans 39.3 meters when fully deployed. It has a dry mass of 3000 kilograms and a launch mass of 5384 kilograms, equipped with power from two deployable solar arrays and batteries.
SES-12 was launched on June 4, 2018, from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Stations Launch Complex 40 using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. Its equipment includes 68 active Ku-band transponders and 8 Ka-band transponders for communication purposes. The satellite is designed to operate for an estimated lifetime of 18 years.
The spacecraft has a box shape with two solar panel arrays (Pan) and its primary mission is to provide communication services. It was built in Luxembourg (L) and its motor type is EOR.
